IMTD To Advance Conflict Analysis and Resolution (CAR) Education Globally Beginning Fall Semester 2016

by Adam Zemans , Executive Director, IMTD

The Institute for Multi-Track Diplomacy (IMTD) will launch a Conflict Analysis and Resolution (CAR) higher education advancement program in the Fall of 2016. The IMTD program will recruit student interns/project officers from around the world to advance transdisciplinary, praxis-based CAR higher education.

In this way, IMTD will be a "home" for some of the most progressive actors and ideas in the field. We look forward to working closely with our partner, The School for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (S-CAR) at George Mason University (GMU), otherwise known as "S-CAR," to strengthen CAR education globally. There is not yet an official name for the program. Suggestions about name and content are welcome.

I thank Professor Sara Cobb and the S-CAR 620, Reflective Practice class members at GMU who helped lead IMTD to realize the importance and potential of this initiative through Appreciative Inquiry. In the weeks that follow, internship job descriptions and a program work plan will be developed in conjunction with the founding of the John W. McDonald Design, Monitoring and Evaluation Clinic at IMTD.
